A five star rating
I really enjoyed it. My favourite character was Heather. I really loved the adventure parts. I think S D Smith is a great author. I can’t wait to read the second book. Florence, aged 8

Absorbing
I loved this book and I really admire the relationship between Heather and Picket, I see it as an example of loyalty. I liken the mended wood to when Jesus comes again. S.D. Smith wrote in such a way that it made it hard for me to put it it down. I would highly recommend this book to fans of the Wingfeather saga series.

From Caleb (aged 10)
I enjoyed this book because there is lots of action (sword-bearing rabbits against wolves and birds). It is well-written because at the end of each chapter you want to read more. I would recommend it to anyone (so long as they don't mind fighting).(Carmen, aged 11)

A story with a cause
I enjoyed this book because even when the enemies seem to be winning there was always hope that one day they would be defeated. I would recommend this book because it's really exciting, adventurous and exhilarating.

The Green Ember (Abigail age 10)
When I first read this book I wanted to read the rest of the series straightaway! It's so exciting! I love rabbits and I love adventure stories so this was the perfect combination. I would definitely recommend it to everyone to read!

The Green Ember
I have long awaited being able to read this treasure, that helps to subtly lift our eyes upwards, and remind our children of the hope yet to come.
This story was quite the adventure. It is full of courage, real life struggles, sacrifice, hope, perseverance and redemption. So much to inspire and encourage. All with subtle Gospel themes woven throughout.
The themes are subtle enough that anyone could read it and thoroughly enjoy it, just like Narnia! I would recommend as a gift for any child.
Content warning - there is mention of parents being killed, or likely to have been killed. For the more sensitive child, this may be a trigger. For my eldest son, this is a particular trigger. He doesn’t like mention of parents or grandparents dying in books or films, so I have to be careful around this kind of thing. However it’s only mentioned a few times briefly, so you could reword during your read aloud if reading to a younger audience like I was (age 6).

Gripping
The Green Ember is a fantastic book about rabbits fighting wolves and it's an epic tale of mystery and suspense. The characters are incredible. The start is a little scary for younger readers.
