Green Ember Lost Tales Book 1

This book has two stories in it - the first one takes place after the events of the first Green Ember book, and the second one takes place after the events of Ember's End which is the final book in the main series. It contains significant spoilers if you read them before you've read these other books. It was great to be back in the Green Ember world again. In the first story, a key theme is doing the 'next right thing', even though we can't see the end from the beginning and things are hard. In the second story, a key theme is living in the 'now and not yet period', with all of the joys of living in light of God's kingdom being ushered in, but also with both the joys and sorrows of things past and present because we are not yet in the new creation.
