The stage is set. It’s war. Morbin Blackhawk, slaver and tyrant, threatens to destroy the rabbit resistance forever. Heather and Picket are two young rabbits improbably thrust into pivotal roles.

The fragile alliance forged around the young heir seems certain to fail. Can Heather and Picket help rescue the cause from a certain, sudden defeat?

Selected Commendations:

“This book does for The Green Ember what The Empire Strikes Back did for Star Wars."

Glenn McCarty, author of The Misadventured Summer of Tumbleweed Thompson

The awaiting of the mended wood

It is an action packed story full of twists and turns as the siblings make friends ... and enemies. I would highly recommend it to fans of the Wingfeather saga. Davida E (age 8)

Keep reading until book 3!

Not as good as the first one of the series because there is a lot more betrayal and the storyline is more confusing. But still a great book with lots of action. (Caleb, aged 10)

A story with hope

I enjoyed this book because although everything seems to be falling downhill, the end of it brings hope. You should read this if you feel discouraged in life. (Carmen, aged 11)
