The Pearl of Great Price

This is a great and modern retelling of the parable with the same lessons applied in the back, as well as a bible verse, and the original bible story passage. It’s not exactly historically or biblically accurate but I don’t think it matters too much as it’s a parable, and is suppose to be a earthy story to help us understand spiritual truths, and it does that well. It’s also rhyming so has a lovely rhythm when reading it, that my children love.

My children adored this book. The rhyming structure and charming illustrations captivate the reader from the outset. The spiritual application is very clear and the bible references at the end are well-chosen and reinforce the truths of the story. This would be a fantastic addition to any young child's bookshelf!

The Pearl of Great Price is a beautiful and rhythmic children’s book. The poetry is clever, the illustration is delightful and the message and application at the end is spot on. This is a great children’s book and I can see it becoming a firm favourite for many bedtime stories. I think this would be a wonderful Sunday School prize giving prize for younger children and a great Christmas and Easter give away.
