Forgiveness is a familiar, loving and often liberating word, yet it can often be a confusing, unnatural or even painful action.

While we may not always want to admit it, we all need forgiveness. Using a story Jesus told, this little book carefully reflects on what it means for us to be truly forgiven, at great cost, and how our response to this should in turn shape how we offer forgiveness to others. The message of this book shows how forgiveness can be freeing and positive.

The book includes thoughtful questions, for personal or group reflection, to help us see how a deeper understanding of forgiveness can be a great source of joy to ourselves and to others, as we learn to forgive freely, motivated by the love we have been shown.

Forgive like Jesus forgives

What a reminder of the forgiveness that Christ offers us! As the book reminds us of this, it guides us to form the right attitude when we need to forgive others (and why we do this). I especially love the illustrations the book uses; one that sticks is one of having a hand of forgiveness always held out to the person who has wronged you.

Forgiveness

Great little book, well written and biblical. I really enjoyed “Unpacking Forgiveness” a few years ago, but it is a bigger book and more technical. “Forgiveness” by Marsden is smaller, but just as helpful and a great one to give to church friends and family.

Forgiveness

This is one of the many small yet powerful Christian books recently published. Its brevity belies its ability to provide balm to troubled souls.

Forgiveness

J. Marsden’s book is a small but precious gem. Forgiveness is at the heart of Christianity as every believer knows. But being someone who is both forgiven and is a forgiver is not always easy nor a priority. The author shows us why we should all be those who freely forgive and offers some practical, thoughtful and grace–filled advice for how we should go about it.
