"What does it actually look like to follow Jesus in our daily lives? Why does faith feel so easy at camps and conferences and so hard in our homes and high schools? This book dives into those questions with insight and clarity. It’s practical, direct, warm and encouraging. If you’re a young person who wants to live for Jesus in day-to-day life, then this book will really help."

- Andy Acheson, Minister, St Anne’s Grantham; Keswick Youth

"Camps are brilliant, but always too short! This book so helpfully gives campers answers, thought-provoking suggestions and real examples from personal experience and the Bible, which will extend your camp experience and keep you walking with Jesus at home."

- Hannah Peace, Yorkshire Camps

"Finally, a book addressing that all too familiar post-camp crash. I will be buying a copy for every teenager in my church this summer!"

- Steve Finch, Associate Vicar, All Soul’s Eastbourne; Children and Youth Lead at Bible by the Beach

Excellent to give away to teens

A great book to help teens deal with the post-camp slump. It works through some great pastoral questions too. It's well written, and a great length - and would be particularly excellent to give away to young people that you aren't being discipled year-round.

I can easily see this becoming the go-to camp giveaway book

I became a Christian at a camp when I was fourteen, and returning home afterwards (to a church with no other young people!) was tough. I would have loved to have had a copy of this book placed in my hands at the end of that camp to help me take those first steps. I was fortunate to have a Sunday School teacher who invested time in nurturing and discipling me, but I know that experience is not true for everyone. The book contains twelve chapters, each centred around a key question relating to living the Christian life as a young person. It is written specifically with teenagers in mind. That doesn’t mean older new Christians wouldn’t benefit from reading it, but the examples and discussion points (covering school, college, parents, and friendships) make it especially relatable for young people, particularly in the weeks and months after summer camps. However, this is not simply a Q&A book. Alistair skilfully weaves in biblical stories from Esther, David, Mary and Martha, Job, and Peter, and each chapter includes a Bible passage to read. The reflection questions at the end of each chapter, with space provided to write responses, make it ideal for both personal use and group discussion. The final two chapters bring the focus right back to the reader’s own story: have they truly given their life to Jesus, and what will that look like in everyday life? There is helpful, practical guidance on sharing faith, developing habits of Bible reading and prayer, and even a recommended list of further books to explore. I can easily see this becoming the go-to camp giveaway book, this year and beyond. It’s a real gem!

The much needed post-camp/conference book to send teens home with

This book is fairly niche in that it is aimed at helping teens who have just been at a camp or conference and are excited about Jesus and living out their faith, only for normal life to kick in when they get home and living for Jesus feels hard again. In this book we dig into the bible to see how different people handled following God in their equivalent situations, so it's a good starting point to keep yourself in God's Word and remind you to stay confident in who Jesus is and what he has done. Then it answers questions that you might have in those weeks following camp, such as how to practically keep engaging to God, and what to do when your friends are critical of your faith.
