‘From Cambridge to the world’
Charles Simeon was John Stott's mentor in preaching, though he lived 150 years earlier. Simeon, like Stott, was a colossus. This book traces Simeon’s legacy down to the present day, mainly through John Stott and Dick Lucas, Lausanne, IFES and the Proclamation Trust / Simeon Trust (US). It is a unique work, with illustrations, maps and Timeline. John Stott spoke and wrote often of his indebtedness to Charles Simeon. He had one of Simeon’s silhouettes on the wall, and took it with him when he moved into St Barnabas, the care home for Anglican clergy.
Find out about Simeon’s link with Henry Martyn, whom he called ‘his son’. Trace the history of Christian Unions back to their roots.
An important book to bring Charles Simeon’s legacy up -to-date.
