    C H Spurgeon

    Charles H. Spurgeon (1834–1892) was an English Baptist pastor at New Park Street Chapel, London (which later became the Metropolitan Tabernacle), for thirty–eight years. As the nineteenth century’s most prolific preacher and writer, his ministry legacy continues today among Christians of various denominations, among whom he is affectionately known as the “Prince of Preachers”.

    Shiny Nuggets of Gold for the Everyday Christian

    Excellent little meditations reflecting on promises from the bible. The good Mr Spurgeon is a master encourager and these dated, short devotions are so easy just to pick up and read in a few minutes that you can't help but go away a little more refreshed. It's like TikTok, if TikTok was a book that is... and if it was actually delightfully nourishing and bible-saturated... and if was authored by the so called 'Prince of Preachers'. So really it's not like TikTok at all. But it IS short, and rich, and eminently readable and you should really read it.

    I was given a copy of this some 5 years ago at the Christian Resources Exhibition. Otherwise, I probably would not have bought it because of the Victorian language. Out of respect for C H Spurgeon I began to read it and have seldom missed a day since. Despite the old language, Spurgeon’s thoughts have blessed me, and a number of friends and family, more than I could ever have realised. Amazingly, what I read is frequently just what I needed on that day – including today!
