“For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” is surely one of the most startling, challenging, and comforting sentences ever uttered. Paul's epistle to the Philippians plumbs the depths of what it means to live and die in Christ. Here we meet Paul in prison, yet joyful in all circumstances and grateful that God is at work, achieving his purposes.

This warmly written and accessible commentary on Philippians offers both insight and encouragement to believers at any stage of their Christian journey. Peter Barnes, a trusted Bible teacher, guides readers through Paul's joyful and Christ-focused letter, drawing out practical applications and gospel-rich truths.

Barnes's commentary avoids academic jargon while still offering rich theological insight, making it a valuable resource for everyday Christians in the UK seeking to deepen their understanding of Scripture.

Whether you're new to Bible study or looking to renew your joy in Christ, Philippians will help you grasp the Apostle Paul’s message of perseverance, unity, and the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus.
