Get Preaching: Application

Gwilym Davies’ book is simple but makes the important yet controversial claim (controversial in the sense that it’s not what you’ll glean from many other books on the topic of application) that sharp, life–changing application comes first and foremost not from exegeting the culture, becoming experts in psychology or anthropology, or even from listening to our congregation’s concerns (as important as that may be), but by listening ever more closely to the Biblical text. Highly recommended
