Not for Me, But a Classic for Many

I missed out on The Chronicles of Narnia as a child, and I decided to dive in as an adult. Unfortunately, I didn’t find much to enjoy. The writing style felt cumbersome, with Lewis often veering into rambling prose, making it difficult for me to stay engaged. While I understand that Narnia is meant to be a Christian allegory, it didn’t resonate with me, and I didn’t find it to be a compelling one. That being said, I can see why many people love these books. The message is clear, and they offer a fresh way of presenting biblical truths. If you're someone who enjoys fantasy or is more drawn to allegorical storytelling, this may be a much more rewarding read. However, for someone like me, not fond of fantasy and less moved by Lewis’s approach, the series didn’t live up to its reputation.
