Christmas should be a time of joy, and yet the world seems such a mess. All the many issues and challenges we face can deflate our Christmas bubble of joy. So if we think about God at all at Christmas, then we come to him with all sorts of questions: Where are you God? Why is this world a mess? How are you going to sort it?

In A Very Messy Christmas, Jago Wynne takes us to the first Christmas, to a God who broke into
our world and entered into our mess. This Christmas, discover a message of one who can burst the bubble of our lives, deal with our mess, and flood us with unsinkable joy.

“This timely Christmas resource is written with Jago’s signature blend of sound theological reflection and spiritual insight. A Very Messy Christmas will warm the reader’s heart with the wonders of God’s love, whilst challenging us all to respond in worship of the baby born to be a King.’

–      Ken Costa, former Chairman of Lazard International and Chairman Emeritus of Alpha International

“We read A Very Messy Christmas and found it so relatable with lively scenes of ‘mess’! The book makes sense to us, so we’ve bought 200 copies as a Christmas giveaway for our church’s carol services. This is a great book to give this Christmas with the aim of helping people ‘trust in the joyous mess-age about the Mess-iah who deals with all our mess.’

–      Sir Jeremy Cooke, former High Court Judge, and Lady Cooke

A Very Messy Christmas

This is a good short evangelistic book on how God enters the mess of our world to save it. The Biblical story is accompanied by helpful personal illustrations (some potential audiences might relate to the author and his wife being given a holiday in Paris). At the end readers are invited to investigate an Alpha or Christianity Explored course. As the book was written in 2021, there is some discussion of Covid, which may date the book as time passes.

A Very Messy Christmas

Christmas isn’t always mess–free, no matter how hard we try to make it that way. The first Christmas also wasn’t mess free. In this short evangelistic book, Jago walks the reader through the original Christmas story. In just six short chapters the reader will hear about the mess of our world, something you probably won’t need convincing of especially after Covid. But then he points you to Jesus and the true and lasting hope that He brings to a world of mess. This would be a good book to give out in church, to give to your neighbours or to post to the community around your church building.
