Dear Abdullah

Eight questions Muslim people ask about Christianity

Quantity

Many Muslims are willing to discuss matters of faith with Christians, if only we are willing to listen and talk, with gentleness and respect.

Over several years Rob Scott has done just that and shares from his rich pool of experience and wisdom. He equips us to converse with those ‘people of peace’ whom Jesus the Messiah’s disciples are to look for; those who are genuinely interested in understanding ‘who is the Christ?’ of the Christian message. These are people who share our communities, our lectures and halls of residences, our offices and blocks of flats.

In this book Rob begins to address the real questions, objections and confusion of Muslim people concerning the Christian message. It is written so that we can answer these questions in as gentle and honest a way as possible.

Robert Scott

Robert Scott helps to oversee the international outreach at St Helen's Bishopsgate, London, which involves supporting the church's mission partners overseas as well as outreach cross-culturally in London. For the latter he has often shared a platform with Muslim speakers to discuss similarities and differences between Christianity and Islam. These Meetings for Better Understanding have taken place in churches, mosques, community centres and universities. His book Dear Abdullah came out of some of these talks. He also lectures in Islamic Studies at Oak Hill Theological College in North London.

Ten years ago, Robert and his family spent 18 months in NE Bangladesh learning the Sylheti language, in order to better understand the many people of Sylheti background in Tower Hamlets. Now back in Tower Hamlets, he and his family are partnering with other local churches to share the gospel with Sylheti people. Previously he worked for the World Health Organisation and the Charity Commission. He tries to support Liverpool FC ("they were the best when I was 7") and Southend United ("where I'm from"), and still just about manages to play in goal for a local veterans league. Robert is married to Beccy and they have three teenage children.

Apologetics for Muslims

This book can be read either by Muslims or Christians wanting to share Christ with them. The eight questions cover knowing God, holy living, the cross, the incarnation, the Trinity, culture, the Bible and assurance. The questions are answered with much Biblical detail and helpful stories. Each chapter ends with reflections for followers of Jesus and Muslim friends. A helpful book to read, digest and use with Muslims.
