Everyone knows what we mean when we talk about the kingdom.

Except we don't. Different visions of the kingdom abound - and some of them are just plain wacky.

Join Andrew Sach and Alasdair Henderson in this journey through 1 and 2 Kings, utilising the Dig Deeper tools to unearth the surprising nature of the kingdom of God from these lynchpin Old Testament texts.

God wants us to work hard at reading the Bible in order to discover its true meaning. Hence, the use of 'tools' to help us dig and dig again. It's an interactive process. Indeed, the authors want to make finding the treasure in 1 and 2 Kings a possibility for everyone. This is a book to help you read the Book. Or, at least, an important part of it.

'My number one recommendation for individuals or groups wanting to study these important books of the Bible.' Nancy Guthrie

The Dig Deeper books are a cross between a sermon (but showing a bit more of the preacher's work behind the scenes), a commentary (but often more humorous than that) and an interactive workbook (there are a few 'over to you' moments). Each book uses the same set of 'tools' - context, structure, repetition, Bible timeline and so on - that will train you in how to read the Bible better for yourself. The Dig Deeper books invite you to read the Bible well with a range of tools. Find out more here: https://digdeeper.tools

Excellent Bible Study Guide

This book has opened Bible study up to me in an incredibly wonderful and helpful way because of the use of "Dig Deeper" tools such as the author's purpose tool, context tool, linking words tool, vocabulary tool, repetition tool, etc. These tools along with the suggestion of reading the books of the Bible for myself beforehand mean this is less of a passive study guide and much more active. But, and here's the crucial thing - it is not onerous! It is, in fact, a thrill! It's hard to sum up two weighty books of the Bible in a few sentences - but what has been impressed on me throughout studying Kings are these truths: ✨God is good and so... ✨ Because He is good, He is merciful and wants people to have the opportunities to come to Him in repentance because He wants us to dwell with Him ✨ But because he is good, he is also just and will not let wrongdoing go unpunished and will bring an eventual end to evil ✨ God is faithful and so... ✨ Everyone one of His promises comes to pass, sometimes almost immediately, but sometimes the wait is for several centuries because ✨ All the good kings (who are still less than perfect) foreshadow Jesus Christ... ✨ Who is the fulfillment of every promise of God; the fulfillment of the law; the fulfillment of every prophet, priest and king; and the one true and perfect King who can atone for our sins, redeem us and give us hope for eternal safety and happiness.
