The Secret of Contentment

Barclay writes with humility and rigour as he challenges his reader to consider contentment and recognise it to be at the heart of so much of Christian life. Unashamedly using the insights of a couple of Puritan giants and with Philippians woven throughout the text, he walks us through the different aspects, challenges and reasons to 'learn' contentment. I found the discussion questions helpful at the end of each chapter, and enjoyed the way he writes. One to read with a friend maybe to be able to talk about this all important facet of Christian life. I liked that I was being prompted to dwell on contentment, and the dangers of discontentment, more than I ever have before.
