Hyper–spiritual approaches to finding God’s will don’t work. It’s time to try something new: Give up.Pastor and bestselling author Kevin DeYoung counsels Christians to settle down, make choices, and do the hard work of seeing those choices through. Too often, he writes, God’s people tinker around with churches, jobs, and relationships, worrying that they haven’t found God’s perfect will for their lives. Or–even worse–they do absolutely nothing, stuck in a frustrated state of paralyzed indecision, waiting… waiting… waiting for clear, direct, unmistakable direction. But God doesn’t need to tell us what to do at each fork in the road. He’s already revealed His plan for our lives: to love Him with our whole hearts, to obey His Word, and after that, to do what we like.No need for hocus–pocus. No reason to be directionally challenged. Just do something. Now Included: An 8–session study guide! Perfect for use in leading a small group, bible study, or book club.

Just Do Something

If you’ve ever struggled to make decisions this book is for you. While we may wonder if jobs, relationships or situations are God’s will, deYoung encourages a sensible and practical view, of seeking holiness, living Godly lives, and making sensible decisions on that basis.

Just Do Something

Much that passes for "Christian guidance" is little better than superstition. Kevin DeYoung shows that God is more concerned with the daily decisions of holiness. We don't need to struggle to find out what God's will for our life is, because we are free to act for him. Thinking Biblically and prayerfully, seeking wisdom from God is the way to go. A book to give away to those who find decision-making difficult.

Just Do Something

I enjoyed this book and found it helpful and encouraging because it endorses a sensible, practical view of Christian life. It challenges the present culture of spreading adolescence from age 9 to age 49, and explains the different aspects of God’s will in simple and entertaining language. It’s a bit light hearted, perhaps, on the idea of marriage, but overall it’s giving a message the western world needs to hear. You don’t have to be feckless or irresponsible to enjoy a dose of biblical reassurance that it is good and necessary to act, to act now, and to act on Godly principles.
