Engaging and Thoughtful Investigation

I read The Case for Christmas: A Journalist Investigates the Identity of the Child in the Manger by Lee Strobel, and I really enjoyed it. Strobel’s writing is engaging and easy to follow. The book covers his two-year investigation into the identity of Jesus, including interviews with scholars, historians, and theologians. I liked how methodically he lays out the evidence, giving readers a chance to think through the facts for themselves. One of the strongest parts for me was the interviews—they felt personal and brought the investigation to life. I also appreciated how Strobel explains why Jesus had to be born of a virgin and highlights the Old Testament prophecies that point to him. Much of the material overlaps with his earlier book, The Case for Christ, but it’s presented in a concise and readable way. Overall, it’s a thoughtful, evidence-focused book that kept my attention and helped me remember a lot of what I read. I’m interested in exploring his other “Case For” books as well.
