Last-Minute Ways to Share the Gospel at Christmas
The days leading up to Christmas are often busy, but they’re also full of opportunities to share the hope of Jesus. Here are five simple, practical ideas, to help you reach friends and neighbours with the good news between December 20th and 25th!
1. Deliver Christmas Treats with a Personal Note
Bake biscuits/cookies or mince pies (or order in and box yourself, we know you’re busy!) and hand deliver along with a handwritten note containing a Bible verse like Luke 2:11,
“Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
or Matthew 1:21
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
A personal message like, “This is why Christmas matters to me, hope you enjoy!” is a great way to make it more impactful.
2. Share a Christ-Centered Playlist
Create a playlist of carols that focus on Jesus and share it via text or social media. Include a personal note: “These remind me of the real meaning of Christmas.”
Check out the top 10 carols as voted for by members of the public which would be popular choices:
Silent Night
Oh Holy Night
Once in Royal David’s City
O Come, All Ye Faithful
O Little Town of Bethlehem
Little Donkey
Away in a Manger
Hark! The Herald Angels
In the Bleak Midwinter
We Three Kings
Here’s one we made earlier on Spotify and YouTube!
3. Invite Them to a Christmas Service
Hopefully your church has a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day service. Invite friends to go together: “We’d love to celebrate Christmas with you. Do you want to join us?”
4. Invite Them Over
Whether it’s drinks and nibbles, or joining you for Christmas dinner, hospitality speaks volumes.
Before eating, read a short passage about Jesus’ birth (Luke 2 or Matthew 1&2 ) and thank God for his gift of salvation through Jesus.
5. Share a Short Video or Bible verse on Social Media
Send a link to a gospel-focused Christmas video or a Bible verse image to point people to the true meaning of Christmas.
“This really captures what Christmas means to me, I’d love to hear your thoughts.”
We will be sharing an image on our socials on Christmas Day morning, feel free to share!
Remember: Christmas is about Jesus, the greatest gift of all. Even small acts can point people to Him. Which idea will you try this week? Let us know!
